This prominent three and one-half acre urban site, sold in 2005 by the Archdiocese of Boston to Church Square Community Partners, L.L.C., an affiliation between Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation and New Atlantic Development, is being developed in two phases of work, with a comprehensive mixed use program accommodating retail, institutional, and housing functions.

Construction of Phase One will begin in the spring of 2008, and will include construction of two new buildings, relocation/renovation of one building, and construction of a forty-six space underground parking garage that will span under all buildings.

A signature three to four story building will wrap the corner at Centre and Creighton Streets, providing approximately 7,500 SF of new retail space on the Centre Street spine near Hyde Square, and activating what has been an under-utilized stretch of a busy commercial district.

Two other buildings, including the relocated, residentially scaled former rectory and a new, ten unit building, will provide symmetry to the residential neighborhood opposite the site on Creighton Street.

Together, the buildings will provide fifty-two residential units, intended to serve housing needs at all levels of affordability.
